The 7th edition of Space Resources Week will bring together space agencies, business leaders, researchers and early-stage ventures. The event, like the subject, is truly multidisciplinary, addressing the science, technology, economic, legal and regulatory aspects of space resources.
We are united by a shared vision: Towards the sustainable and responsible use of space resources for our future in space and on Earth. How we get there remains an open discussion. In this edition of Space Resources Week, we are interested in actions for the next 5 years and near-term priorities that will enable the realization of space resource utilization. In the coming years, we need to map resources, plan future architectures for and with space resources and develop roadmaps for translating ground-based research into space technology.
- WHEN: 19-21 May, 2025

Slide Design Best Practices
A good rule of thumb for presentations is 1 slide per minute, so for a 12-minute presentation, aim for 10–12 slides.
Here is a practical list of best practices to help you creating a good presentation:
Limit text
-
Aim for no more than 6 lines per slide.
-
Each line should be short, try to avoid full paragraphs.
Use readable fonts
-
Stick with clean, sans-serif fonts like Arial, Calibri, or Helvetica.
-
Maintain minimum 24 pt size for body text.
One idea per slide
-
Avoid putting multiple concepts onto a single slide.
-
Instead, break them up, this improves clarity and flow.
Use visuals
-
Replace text with diagrams, charts, or images whenever possible.
-
Make sure visuals are simple, high contrast, and clearly labeled.
Color and contrast
-
Use high contrast for text and background (e.g., dark text on a light background).
-
Think of colorblind accessibility.
Consistency
-
Use a simple, consistent layout (fonts, colors, spacing).
-
Use slide numbers to help keep things organised.
Plan the timing
-
About 1 slide per minute is a good pacing guideline.
Include a “Takeaway” slide
-
Especially for technical talks, a final slide summarizing 2–3 key points helps people retain what matters.
Use speaker notes
-
Slides are visual aids, not your script. Use speaker notes instead of overloading slides.
Consider the audience
- Adjust depth of content and jargon for non-specialists or mixed-discipline audiences.
